Maldives adopts new tourism slogan and logo
The Maldives has adopted a new slogan and logo to promote the country’s tourism industry.
The new “Always Natural” slogan and logo, which were designed by Quo consultancy agency of Bangkok and London, will replace the existing 11-year-old logo and slogan of “The Sunny Side of Life” commencing next year.
State Tourism Minister Thoyyib Mohamed Waheed, who also serves as the Chairman of the Maldives Tourism Promotion Board, said the new branding broadened the brand to include industries such as energy and fisheries.
The new slogan and logo were formally approved during yesterday’s cabinet meeting.

Maldives begins levying GST
The Maldives has imposed for the first time Goods and Services Tax (GST) commencing today.
Under the GST Act, which came into effect at 12am today, 3.5 percent will be deducted as GST this year from customers who purchase goods or receive services.
